Message from Your Local Branch President

We are finally able to see a glimpse of spring every few days. As we continue to experience the variations of temperatures, we need to remember that the worst is over and it’s time to browse the seed displays that are popping up in every store. If you need a quick pick-me-up, stop at Dutch Growers in Regina and wander through the coloured wonders of potted spring plants. You’ll come out feeling refreshed and relaxed and likely with something in a bag. I’ve always felt that greenhouses and plant solariums (like Government House in Regina) are great for boosting mental wellness.

It has been a long wait but our teaching colleagues have finally received their arbitration report. We trust that additional resources may come their way to help ease their burdens. Our STS relationship with STF remains strong, as Sue Amundrud, STS provincial president, reminded us at the March Luncheon.

As you know, all members of Blue Cross have received new ID cards. Be sure to register your new card with your pharmacy, your dentist, eye doctors, and so on. Your original card is no longer viable.

We hope you see another large turn-out at the May luncheon on May 21, 10:30 a.m. at Masonic Hall. Our AGM will follow the luncheon and we will elect the chapter executive for the following year. We welcome anyone who would like to join our executive.
