March’s guest speaker: Della Ferguson

Della Ferguson has worked as a Grief Support worker for W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home for 26 years, and through those years she has witnessed and supported people through their most profound losses.  This presentation will offer facts about grief (to counter the myths that we so often live by) and  insights and strategies for those times in our life “When Loss Hits Home”.

India’s most iconic landmark is a stunning monument to love

The first time I travelled alone was when I went to India. I had always been fascinated by the culture and food, but nobody wanted to go with me. I never knew if my dream to visit the Taj Mahal and sit on Lady Diana’s bench would ever come true.

Then I discovered the world of small group touring. Excellent tours designed to help you discover destinations all over the world, and unlock the experiences you’ve been patiently dreaming about. Now I specialize in connecting people with this exciting world of discover. Picture a small group, 12 to 16 people, lots of retired educators. These tours are open to travellers from all over the world, and if you are solo they’ll match you with another solo traveller of the same gender, or opt for a nominal single supplement. You choose!

Not only did we visit the Taj Mahal, but we also took cooking classes, went on a tiger safari, the holy city of Varanasi, shopping for spices and silks, and a lot more. Everything was looked after, authentic, and memorable.

So if you want to do something like this, or maybe a European discovery, or exotic Asia, a South American sojourn, or whatever you fancy, reach out. Often knowing about what area of the world you are curious about and when you want to go is enough to help me give you a shortlist of possibilities to consider. Don’t hold back, do it while you can. My trip to India was with Intrepid Travel, and they’re on sale until February 29.
